Appointed the new Grand Chaplain for the House of Ghassan
We are glad and honored to announce the
appointment of His Most Reverend Archimandrite
Ignatios Sotiriadis (Counselor of the Church of Greece
to the E.U.) as the Grand Chaplain of the Sovereign
Imperial and Royal House of Ghassan. Also, as a
Personal Spiritual Advisor to H.I.R.H. Prince Gharios of
Ghassan.
Born in Katerini in 1961. He has a degree of the Faculty
of Letters of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1984)
and a degree of the Faculty of Theology of the Aristotle
University of Thessaloniki (2001). He was ordained
deacon in 1992 and presbyter- archimandrite in 1997.
He is director of the "Barnabean Library of Katerini"
since 1995. He worked in the secondary education from
1995-2000. Secretary of the Synodal Committee of the
Church of Greece for European Affairs (2000-2001).
Collaborator of the Synodal Committee for Interorthodox and Interchristian Relations
(2001-2005).Secretary in the Office of the Representation of the Church of Greece to the E.U. (since
October 2005). He has taken part in several scientific Congresses and various ecclesiastical missions and
delegations on behalf of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece. He is a member of the Working Group
on European Integration of the Church and Society Commission of the Conference of European
Churches(KEK/CEC) and a member of the "Working Group on the Theology of Creation" of the European
Christian Environmental Network (ECEN).
